general/other srv-io card support suggestion or use kernel built-in support?

Hi all,

I tried different ixl/ix HPE branded cards but they all result in « Malicious Driver Detection event » error when starting a bhyve vm:

234073 – ixl: SR-IOV causes "Malicious Driver Detection event" when not all VFs are in passthrough mode

Firmware is the lates from HPE. I tried with the intel-ix-kmod package since using the kernel wan was resulting in panic . Should I rebuild a custom kernel with sr-iov support? What nic is supported for sr-iov?

Personally I use Chelsio T4/T5. I have a dozen T540. I use 3 in my router.
Pickup a used T520 or T540. You won't be disappointed, and it is well supported.

The GENERIC kernel has it enabled by default, no need for a custom kernel.

well it doesn't work on 13.1/13.0 (kernel panic) . I will try on 14.0
