Some domains unreachable

Long time Linux user and brand new to FreeBSD and while I'm enjoying the experience, I'm having an odd problem. There seem to be some domains that I cannot reach and I have no idea how to proceed. For example, I am unable to reach github and am unable to ping it.

Web searches have revealed nothing useful. Any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks in advance!

Some random suggestions...

Maybe it is a glitch of the router, and it needs a reset.

Maybe the previous owner of your dynamic IP was blacklisted. Then if you switch-off the router for few minutes, when you restart it, you will have a new dynamic IP.

Maybe some of your devices was hacked, and you are generating too much requests towards some websites (edit: hence you are blacklisted). You can check the traffic on the router diagnostic.

I doubt these are solutions to your problem, but they are easy to apply.

It's probably a good idea to post the actual error. "Cannot reach" and "unable to ping" aren't very informative. Are you getting an error resolving the domain name? Or are you getting a time-out pinging the IP address? The end result is the same but the cause of the issue is very different. The actually error message typically provides the clue which of the two issues are involved.
