Solved [Solved] Does RT3572 require a binary blob?

I'm considering buying a device (this or this) with a RT3572 for an ARM-based router, so I need something with a source-based driver.

From my research, this chipset should work (the first is even mentioned by name in run(4)), but I just wanted to make sure.

I could alternatively use an Atheros-based adapter, but I couldn't find very many dual-band adapters with a supported Atheros chipset (I used this wikipedia page as a reference). I'm willing to live with a single-band 150mb/s card if it's better supported though.

Re: Does RT3572 require a binary blob?

It looks like the answer is no. This should probably have been in the "System Hardware" section, so I apologize for that.

Anyway, marking this as solved since the referenced blog post used a chip with the same chipset as the devices I was looking at.
