Whenever I create a single pool using for example zpool create mypool /dev/da1 on an SSD device - Intel S4520 Enterprise 7.68Tb , it takes around 8-9 minutes for the zpool command to complete. During this time no other zpool commands work such as zpool list for example.
My only clue is that if I do gstat I see the drive activity at 100%+ and the L(q) column starts at 900 and decreases until 0. Once it's at 0, the zpool create command completes.
I've created plenty of pools and this never happens with mirrors for example, only with single drives.
Anyone else noticed this or knows what's happening ?
Note: These are brand new servers with Broadcom LSI 9300-8i HBA's and also brand new Intel SSD drives
