Xfce Single instance terminal for xfce

I guess I've gotten used to a single terminal instance where I have to either CTL-ALT-T to get a new window or right click the launcher and select new Terminal. This isn't how xfce is working. Every time I click on the launcher it fires up a new terminal and I notice that after a while, I've got 9 instances running. Is there an alternative, or do I just need to retrain my brain?
 
You are not alone, when i am done with something then i do endup with multible instances aswell.

But i dont like the tab situation in file browser or terminal anywany.
