Solved serving an offline maildir store through imap in order to use sylpheed

I downloaded mail from my web account webuser Y , and stored it offline as local user X in maildir format using claws-mail.
How can I serve this offline maildir of user X through IMAP ?
This in order to have multiple e-mail clients capable of reorganising this maildir or clients with better html capability.
What is most easy IMAP server to configure and how do I do it ? [ There is cyrus,imap-uw,dovecot ... ]
Locally i run opensmptd for delivery.
I don't need anti-spam stuff , nor connection with mysql etc ...
Authentication with local password db is fine.
Why simple mutt and alpine can read a local maildir and complex sylpheed can't struck my mind.

Seriously. I love sylpheed but this is somewhat disappointing. I can't help with the IMAP server though, sorry.

Setting up a simple imap server at first looks like a difficult task.
Poke around in 10 config files.
For security reasons i don't like inetd which leaves me to dovecot ...

I installed dovecot , created a certificate and added a mailbox in sylpheed. Works great for the offline stuff.
