I have had this problem forever and I am surprised no-one who I have helped with the APU console has complained.
Well the problem is simple. There are double characters in the first stages of the bootloader for my Serial Console.
Then it hits the copyright and springs to life and works dandy.
With my normal beastie_on the 'frame' around the Beastie screen looks like snakes on the screen! All messed up.
That is with the normal comconsole settings. What am I doing wrong? Is this a wrong baud speed on boot0 ? Duplex mode?
This has bugged me a long time but is such a minor thing.
I was using Windows Putty until recently I switched my console monitor box over to FreeBSD.
