Solved Serial Console Problem

I have broken out some of my old Arm boards and I am using prolific USB-Serial TTL with Pi and Hummingboard and I cannot get keyboard input working.
I just had Beaglebone working and programmed them for OneWire project. So I think I have a good working USB/serial adapter.

So what am I missing. I work alot from a xfce terminal window but dropped to console with same results.
I have had to use SSH but i need console access.
All text is on screen for a login.

What am I doing wrong? It seems to be a U-Boot issue. I cant even interrupt the uboot sequence for diagnosis.
This is happening to me on Pi2, Pi3 and Hummingboard i2EX (imx6).

I went to find a reference picture to post but I noticed that I was using the wrong pinout. Completely backward.
Geez that cost me a weekend.
Can't believe it worked at all completely backwards.
Hummingboard uses same header pinout. Hence my mistake.
