I cannot type semicolon character in Terminal. However I can type it in browsers, editors(Vim, gedit).

System configuration:
11.1-RELEASE, amd-64, Gnome 3 desktop

How to solve this problem?

Do you mean the Gnome-Terminal? Does it work if you use xterm or any other terminal application?

I'm thinking it might be accidentally linked as a hotkey in the Gnome-Terminal.

Thanks for the hint.
I solved it by editing my ~/.cshrc file where bymistake semicolon was used in bindkey
