I may open a port bug report on this, although I suspect its not FreeBSD-specific by any means.
I've been using 4.19 for quite a while as a "primary" (not part of a Windows domain), and it and previous versions have had no problems with Windows clients, including Win11.
Just put 4.20 on in place of 4.19 from packages and suddenly connections to shares are intermittent. Sometimes you can't browse into a shared directory at all, sometimes you can but when you to try to open a file it will fail. If you get a failure retrying sometimes works, sometimes does not.
I put 4.19 back (leaving the configuration file alone) and the problem immediately disappeared.
Not sure what's going on here at all, and like I said I HIGHLY doubt this is FreeBSD-specific, but it appears there is some sort of problem with Windows 11 clients against the "current" Samba release.
