ravynOS is old news at this point but I don't think I've seen a lot of discussion about it here on these forums.

The website also says they are developing their own UI instead of X11/KDE.
There was a developer release named "sneaky snek" in November 2024:

All in all I thought it sounded like a really great project but it's also very ambitious considering how much work is presumably involved. I check in on the website now and again, but I get concerned that in the end it will be abandoned like so many other FreeBSD-based OSes and nothing is going to come out of it. Which seems to be the case with e.g. HelloSystem now.
Which makes me thankful there are these perhaps less ambitious but more successful FreeBSD-based desktop OSes such as GhostBSD and NomadBSD.
Do you think ravynOS has a future? Do you think we will see more FreeBSD-based desktop OSes in the years to come?
