This is very interesting, I wouldn't have guessed that we would get a "stable" ports tree/packages so soon.

I really hope this turns out to be a working system. One of the biggest aggravations with the ports tree at the moment is that any single commit that is made with good intentions but has a problem can break large parts of the ports tree and the bad change is pushed to everyone who happens to be updating their ports tree at that time.
The URL for the branched (Q2) ports tree is https://svn0.eu.freebsd.org/ports/branches/2014Q2 (in Europe, replace with US mirrors if better for you).

January 2014 saw the release of the first quaterly branch, intended at
providing a stable and high-quality ports tree. Those stable branches are a
snapshot of the head ports tree taken every 3 months and currently supported
for three months, during which they receive security fixes as well as build and
runtime fixes.
