Well..the HP Officejet printer sent out a final distress SOS: 0x61011bed . So, after looking for technical remedies I found that using a hard reset either with ink cartridges or without them was a possible solution. Neither worked.
I placed an order for another printer; until it arrives just going to store documents on DVD's and take them to the local copy company for print-out.
If anyone has had the same printer distress code as the one above, with a working solution, by all means comments and criticism are welcome.
