Solved PKG UPGRADE failing

Hello, again:

So, I have another issue here which I don't know how to handle.

I am trying to do a pkg upgrade to an older computer which I just updated to FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE. After that finished, I then want to upgrade any packages which I have installed over the last year or so.

Doing pkg upgrade, all the "preliminaries" go forward normally, until it downloads tesseract-data-4.1.0, when I get an error message, 'failed check-sum from repository", and the entire program quits.

Is there any way to handle this?

Maybe the problem is with your locally stored repository metadata, this should be fixed with a pkg update -f

Well, it is all moot now: apparently the HD on which I have FreeBSD installed is failing...rapidly.

I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised since I have not turned that particular computer off for the past several years, and the HD I was using for FreeBSD, an older Seagate 250 GB model, was old when I installed it.

I'll install a new HD and start over.

Thanks for the help, folks. I really appreciate both the kindness and the expertise shown here.

You're a good bunch.
