using FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT on PPC64 (big endian) and I have some trouble installing ports, but they seem to compile OK

===>  Installing for gmake-4.4.1
===>  Checking if gmake is already installed
===>   Registering installation for gmake-4.4.1 as automatic
pkg-static: "/var/run/ld-elf.so.hints": invalid file format
*** Error code 1

how can I troubleshoot this further? it seems reproducible on 2/2 systems so far, i simply install then just try to 'make install' a port
any help appreciated
