Paste only works sometimes

I'm using the latest pkg repository to install my software, I have KDE Plasma 5.18.4, Qt version 5.14.2, Framework 5.69.0 on FreeBSD 12.1 and for some reason pasting content works only sometime. I can copy to Klipper, look at the contents of the clipboard and see that it's there but then actually go to paste and nothing happens. It seems to mostly revolve around when I copy text, then get a selection of text to paste over it. Other times I have to hit copy twice to get paste to work at all. I've tried blowing away all my configurations. Maybe I missed some and the ones I missed are the culprit. Not sure.

hello everyone i can often not copy text to the clipboard since upgrading my system from fedora to fedora along with all the new kde bits that go with fedora

That's a solution! That's actually the best solution. They changed how the settings work in Klipper it seemed so the configuration I had been using for years suddenly started causing issues. So right now my settings are:
[ ] Save clipboard contents on exit
[x] Prevent empty clipboard
[x] Ignore Images

[x] Ignore selection

And I think the issue had to do with ignore selection changing behaviors, IIRC. Seemed I wasn't the only person with this problem when Plasma 5.18 was released
