UDOO Bolt v8
vs Framework i5 1135g7
vs SimplyNUC LLM1v6PKB.

Would love your opinion on the best choice out of these for a budget portable bhyve hypervisor.

I like the Bolt as it supports ECC.

Framework cause of the form factor.

And um560 for performance.

Will RAM speed have an effect.. Worth considering?

I'm trying to achieve low power.. and wake up on lan.. and suspend to disk when not in use.

Using touchscreen 1080P display via usb-c (dp alt mode)

I don't like a single choice up there.
People on this forum have had troubles getting Bhyve on Ryzen working.
I wouldn't go there.
Your Intel choice is a laptop.
Do you think laptops are made for 24x7 use as a server?

Your right. I have reconsidered and what I am really wanting is a portable low power machine for running servers and vms locally off a battery if on the go.

I want good VM performance and suspend to disk capabilities and WOL(maybe) so I can login via my phone if needed.

I will still want to use the usb touch monitor so I guess this will need to be linux or windows

I have an old dl360g6 which I will do the bhyve server. Hopefully it'll be capable enough?
