Solved Opera does not work in Xfce

I installed XFCE4 as my window manager - so far no problems there. It loads as default WM under the account I use it as.

I went to install Opera to use it in XFCE, the first time I installed it, I did it via source from /usr/ports/www/opera. It installed with no errors, but when I set it to be my default Web Browser in XFCE, it came up with an error:

Failed to execute default Web Browser. Input/output error.

I went back to /usr/ports/www/opera and did a make deinstall of it. I then installed it via the pkg(8) management system, pkg install opera. Installed no issues.

When I went to run it, I got the same error as before. How do I Fix this?

Update - I could not get opera to work, I installed Firefox and that worked so I have set Firefox to be my default Web Browser.

Opera is a Linux program. Did you enable Linux compatibility? See the handbook for instructions.

Thank you. I wasn't expecting an update on this so I appreciate the reply. I did not do the compatibility for it. I was unaware. Even though I have Firefox installed and working now, for personal satisfaction I will reinstall Opera and try to get it to work via the link you posted. Thanks!

Sorry, looking closer at the Browser section of the handbook I see that www/opera is supposed to be the native one and www/linux-opera is the Linux port that requires the Linux compat turned on. There is some more detail in the Browser section on the two.
