OpenBOX Openbox clipboard and xfe questions

I am trying to put together a minimalist desktop. Openbox with obconf and xfe.

For autostart I do this:

xclock &
xfe &
xterm

All good. What I wonder about is the xfe text editor. xwrite seems to be built in along with an image viewing program. Super deluxe.
These programs were legacy X programs like xclock and were absorbed into xfe? I look through ports and they were never ported. So very old X programs.
Any insights to these xfe add-ins?

This is my real question. How can I add a copy and paste clipboard to Openbox? I am aiming for minimal. I may add tint2 if I struggle with right click menu system.

deskutils/parcellite on Openbox and tint2 too. Fot text editor I use vi or GVim. And for sound mixer
audio/volumeicon
