Solved newbie cannot boot from usb

So, I am new to FreeBSD. I decided I would reinstall FreeBDS 14.3 to a computer that had previously been installed with FreeBSD. I had made a few errors on that previous install and decided the simplest correction was to reinstall.

I can enter the computers boot options menu and can select to boot from usb. I keep ending at "mountroot> ?". (I had installed previously with the zroot option so I think this is UEFI in zroot related?) How do I get the installer to proceed? There is no entry option that appears to be the usb drive that contains the installer? Questions? Suggestions?

Which image did you 'burn' to a USB stick? The ISO or the memstick one? They behave slightly different when it comes to booting.

Yes, this is a difference beween Linux and FreeBSD. Most Linux iso's, as far as I know, can be burned to a USB and used as install media. FreeBSD requires that you use an img file. (Putting this here in case a web search leads someone to this thread).
