Solved Need to do a fresh reinstall

Hi all,

I installed 9.3 FreeBSD on a server and I was trying to SSH into the box and it wasn't working. It's stuck at mountroot>.

There's nothing on the box... so what's the easiest way to re-image the box? I just want to do the install over again.

Thanks!

Do you know how to reinstall FreeBSD again? I want to do a clean install again I don't have time to troubleshoot.

I tried to choose different drives but I get errors.

Thanks

Server was in a RAID 1 which I removed. I checked the handbook and did not see anything about re-imaging. Can someone please let me know the steps so I can do the install over again? I need to remove the currently running version of FreeBSD. I tried to use DBAN on the HDs but got a error saying that I may need a driver to use. It also said that no disks were found.

That's what I did... I had a external CD drive hooked up to the server with the install image and it doesn't read it. The server boots up and goes to the FreeBSD screen where you can select different options like multi user, single user, etc... after that it goes to the mountroot.

I don't know what to do next.

Try booting from the memory stick image using an USB stick.

Ok. You are saying that once the server reads the install image again I can walk through and do the install all over again?

It should be like a new box again?

I shouldn't worry about cleaning the HDs?
