mwm freezes since latest xorg update

Hello,

This happens on not just FreeBSD but also on most linux distros which have a recent xorg.

Basically, after clicking between windows, mwm causes a complete freeze.

It can be avoided by adding in your .Xdefaults file

Code:
Mwm*keyboardFocusPolicy: pointer

However, this causes sloppy focus which is quite irritating.

I have emailed the open-motif maintainer (steve @ FreeBSD.org) but since it seems an upstream problem I don't think there is much he can do.

Just checking if anyone here has any suggestions?

Best Regards,

Karsten

Which FreeBSD and Xorg version are you using?

I had problems with X after I updated from 8.0 to 8.1, but rebuilding all ports from scratch fixed my issue

Hello,

I am using the xorg package that came with the 8.1-RELEASE dvd (xorg-7.5.tbz) because I have done a fresh offline install so there shouldn't be a problem with misaligned versions.

... so I had a little moan to the OpenMotif developers and they responded with...

Hello Karston

Thank you for informing us of this issue. We have been able to reproduce this issue and a ticket has been created. I will follow up when we have more information concerning a resolution.

Which sounds very promising since I believed that development on OpenMotif had practically stopped.
