missing fonts

Hi all!

After watching an inspiring video from the FreeBSD YouTube channel, I was tempted to recreate the process on my own laptop.

For the most part, everything is going well. The embedded wifi (MT7921) doesn't work, but I'm making do with a USB adapter (RTL8812AU).

Strangely, Suspend is not detected even though it works fine with Windows and Linux.
$ sudo sysctl hw.acpi.supported_sleep_state
hw.acpi.supported_sleep_state: S4 S5

However, in certain places, like some mixed language websites (Youtube), some fonts are still missing even though Unicode emojis are indeed present.

But more strangely, the taskbar clock expansion shows no characters beyond the basic numerals.

I presume this is a standard newbie question that's documented somewhere I have yet to find.

Any tips or references would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Zach

Just a quick update, I've now resolve the browser font issue by installing a whole bunch of TrueType East Asian font packages.

However, the KDE clock issue is still present and now also appears on the lock screen.

Again, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

On KDE, System Settings > Appearance and Style > Text & Fonts, you can install the fonts you want from file.
Other possibility: System Settings > Region & Language > Language & Time.

Hmm, interesting. It already shows 176 system fonts installed. So, I'm not sure what other fonts would be needed to get the clock face to fully render. Any further suggestions?

Also, in Date & Time, there's another view with unrendered fonts:
