Mailing list archive search broken?

I'm wondering why the search function in the FreeBSD mailing lists are not working (at least for "recent" entries).

I tried this and found nothing (keyword "lagg"):
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-net/

Note:The archive search index was last rebuilt at Wednesday, 07 Feb 2007 21:49:07 UTC. Any postings after that will not be found by a search. Index rebuild is usally done once every 24 hours for this list. You can use a "View by date" link below to access more recent postings.

A second search page opens after that (htdig) and presented me the following error:

htdig Archives Access Failure
Path info. No list -2-

If you want to make another attempt to access a list archive then go via the list users information page.

If this problem persists then please e-mail the following information to the mailman@freebsd.org:

http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/mmsearch/freebsd-net
/mailman/mmsearch?config=freebsd-net&restrict=&exclude=&method=and&format=short&sort=score&words=lagg

Found other annoyed users on the web, like here.

Fortunately I found another search interface available here:
http://www.freebsd.org/search/search.html#mailinglists

Unfortunately I couldn't find the latter linked from freebsd.org (missed something like "advanced search")

Is it that hard to fix and thereby avoid confusions of FreeBSD users, or do I miss something obvious?

cheers,
Honk

Try something as follows in Google (till someone fix the issue)
Code:
site:http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-net/ Search Term

Example

Also, http://freebsd.markmail.org/ is pretty good.

As part of the FreeBSD postmaster@ team, let me comment a little more about this problem. The probably stems from the mailman indexer, pipermail/htdig, not being able to handle the large quantity of mail we have to index. This stems from the indexer wanting to reindex every single message every single time. A run currently takes around 30 hours on a dual quad core with 8GB of RAM..
