Receiving this error on upgrade and update even on normal pkg installation on FreeBSD 14.0 release

14.0-CURRENT is old, it stopped existing when 14.0-RELEASE came out. -CURRENT is a development version and is never supported. Use a supported -RELEASE version.

when you upgrade freebsd , pkg will got that issue. you can run command in shell as below
# pkg-static install -f pkg (you must have internet to download pkg tools from repos)

This will install a FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE version of pkg(8), that won't work on this old 14.0-CURRENT. It will result in exactly the same error as the thread started with.

this friend got the issue when freebsd-upgrade .. i have meet it same issue from freebsd13 upgrade freebsd14. this way help me to solve the issue. hope to help this friend. thanks for your remind. thanks.
