Is it possible to run Kodi on Raspberry Pi2 and use hw acceleration of video?

You can try LibreELEC 9.2 with Kodi 18.9 which AFAIK has hw acceleration for videos. Newer versions of LibreELEC like 10, 11 doesn't use hw acceleration for older PIs.

Somewhat off topic but I think this player is the only one that works well for Pi from my experience.

I installed it. Is there a way to see that hw acceleration exists? I think there was console program for such info.

To test whether the X11 server has hardware video acceleration use x11/xvinfo
