I was upgrading gnome2 to 2.30.2 using
the last to get upgraded was gnome2. I was asked (in an ncurses window)whether I wanted to configure it with xscreensaver, I chose yes and then gnome2 could not get upgraded to 2.30.2 due to conflicts with xscreensaver-gnome-5.11 and xscreensaver-gnome-hacks. So I have gnome2-2.30.1 When I rebooted there was a long pause at starting sshd then gdm showed up and I was able to key in my password. After that when the desktop showed up in a few secs the keyboard was unusable. Only the caps lock and number lock button works - the led goes on and off. >But I cannot type anything using the keyboard What should I do?
