KDE3 vs KDE4

Hi!

I have on the computer KDE 3.5.10 and now KDE 4.2 also. Thank you for 4.2 - very good job.
My question is: is it possible to have just KDE 4.2 on the system? Looks like that if I use K3b which is for KDE 3.5 than I need also kdelibs for 3.5. Same with Amarok which I use and I don't know how is with OO which I built for KDE. I don't have so big hard disk and I wish to have just 4.2.

Thanks in advance...

Until those ports have been updated to versions that do not require kde3 libraries, you will need to have at least part of KDE3 installed to use tho seapplications.

You will need at least the kdelibs3 port installed in order to use KDE3 applications like K3B and Kaffeine (still the best video player for KDE). You won't need any of the other kde*3 ports, though.
