Setup: a VMware 25 virtual machine (on a Windows PC), FreeBSD 15.0 (the same on 14.3 as well), KDE Plasma 6.5.3 (latest), open-vm-tools installed, window size 1918*932.
If I start KDE on X11 (automatically via SDDM), the virtual screen resolution is automatically adjusted to the window size (1918*932).
However, on Wayland (configured to start via startx) the virtual screen resolution becomes gynormous (approx. 7000*5000) and does NOT auto-adjust, the only way to change it is to zoom out the virtual screen and somehow manage to click the appropriate option in the KDE settings.
Even more, if later I start KDE on X11, the situation with Wayland repeats.
Why does this happen? And how to prohibit any screen resolution higher than 1920*1080?
