KDE 4.7.x trouble with some apps

My system is FreeBSD 9 amd64, and KDE 4.7.3 installed from ports. A few days ago I wished to play a KDE game (say, KPatience) and launched it as a usual app, but... it opened an empty window. Exactly, the window has all usual decorations but its content is just gray background. I tried the other KDE games, and all of them (except, strangely, Palapeli) appear with empty windows.
Recently I have upgraded KDE to 4.7.4 (again, built from ports) and ... no effect, everything is the same about the games.
Well, other apps don't seem to be buggy like that, and games are not the most critical part, but sometimes even games are. I have tested that on 2 PCs (though they share the ports via NFS).
By the way, there was the time when games worked. The last time I ran them (successfully) was about Christmas.
What could it be? Should I submit a PR or perhaps it has an easy solution?

P.S. Of course, I expected to find any error messages in logs, but there are none.

If your systems works, forget about the games. This is just too much to expect. We should be happy just with a minimally working system.

No, that isn't too much. That was too much a couple of years ago, and now it has to be time for everything to work. :) Market economy, sir. When the price is the same, one prefers what works over what does not.

Market economy? So you have to either pay someone to fix your problems, or "buy" something better with the same amount of money (IOW, move to linux).
But seriously, freedom does not come free... Freedom has a price. Believe or not, the same basic functions that used to work on a SUN 3 with sunview or suntools, the same work today, more or less. Unfortunately, evolution is not as exponential or even linear with time as some people think (or dream). Same thing with mobile phones. They sucked, still suck, and will continue to do so. Software is produced in disproportional quantities in relation to the demand. Hence the absence of QA, and hence why your KDE does not work, or sucks in comparison with the older version. Accept this fact and you'll be happier.

achix, you're mostly right.
In some abstract case, a not working little thingy on say, FreeBSD is just another perfect reason to switch to say, Linux. I didn't write the post here to say, hey guys, you suck, it fails here and i'm moving away to Lin/Win/dustbin ... But there are many others, you can find at forums, who did talk that way. That is market economy.
In either case, the problem exists. And regardless whether I'd be happy with the general software/world development model, it won't solve itself. Or instead, of course, one can bust FreeBSD, KDE, his computer and all, but I, personally, prefer it to be solved. That's probably why I posted about it here.

bbzz, well, you know, life sucks. Now what are you going to do? :)
I would not advise people to decide for others what sucks. And are you able to do something constructive 100% of your lifetime? I don't expect so. Nothing personal, but it is becoming a little boring to see irrelevant answers. Though that was quite what I expected :)

WOW!!! (emotional)
It works!
Thanks avilla@ !!!

P.S. Of course it is interesting to know more about it, but probably the forums are not the best place for these details.
May I only humbly wonder what else can this setting affect?
