...on a 2001 iMac, and am happy as a clam that
a) I found a distro that is current and actively supports ppc
b) that it's quick
c) that it's secure
d) surprisingly easy to pick up...
and well supported on the forums...
so a big thankyou to everyone out there who breathed new life into an old machine.
I'm a SQL/pgplsql/PL/SQL kind of guy, but if anyone needs any help building, maintaining or tuning a relational RDBMS, I'm happy to try and pitch in...
now, to get samba, ftp, automount that external HDD, set up the turntable IO, on and on...
