The January 2025 monthly report for The FreeBSD Foundation’s Laptop Support and Usability Project is now available on GitHub.
Highlights include:
Power Management — work on a new power management driver to enable sleep states for better battery saving.
Work on faster WiFi rates — development of WiFi 4 (802.11n) and WiFi 5 (802.11ac) support is progressing. This will enable modern, faster, WiFi speeds.
USB Webcam development — work is ongoing to integrate a UVC (USB Video Class) kernel driver into FreeBSD.
