Solved Jails and sshd

I've got a fresh install of FreeBSD 10.1. I've installed a new jail from the source as it is described in the manual https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/jails-build.html and I'm running nothing but an sshd. Both the main server and the jail run sshd, however, when I'm on the jailed sshd, it often times out, at least that's what it looks like, what could be the cause of this?

A firewall perhaps? When there's no data (i.e. an idle session) the firewall may close the connection when the firewall's connection state times out.

I think it was a routing issue, because once I fixed some routing it eventually went away.
