SirDice, that may or may not be a problem. I am running xfce without dbus running, and it works fine.

Are you sure it's not HAL? I'm positive XFCE works without HAL but I'm not so sure about DBUS.

Just a second...
Code:
% /usr/local/etc/rc.d/hald onestatus
hald is not running.
% /usr/local/etc/rc.d/dbus onestatus
dbus is not running.
... looks like neither is running by default. This is from the user logged in, running xfce, using the Terminal application. Xfce was installed from packages as I do not want to spend so much time compiling big ports any more.

The root user has no business running a full fledged desktop environment, you should fix that issue first. Create a standard (privileged) user, setup your desktop environment properly, then run it as that user. Use security/sudo to acquire escalated privileges if you need the might of root.

If your JEE platform was installed from binary packages, it would also update your existing Xfce4. You may want to try having Xfce4 reconfigure itself. You can rename the configuration directories and then restart Xfce4. I don't run Xfce4 but most of the configurations should be in ~/.config.

Hi,
It was a sector of hard drive with DBUS are stocked, it was altered !
I was reinstall FreeBSD !

Thanks all
Philippe
