Isn't this a human SLOP ?

Hello.

It seems that humans, too, write SLOPs, not just AI. In this specific case, Linus Torvalds asked the AI to simplify a SLOP written by a human...

I find what happened interesting and for sure it won't please all those who constantly fill their mouths with phrases like "AI SLOP".

But aside from that, I wanted to point out that sometimes human programmers are less capable of writing better code than an AI, and this should at least lead us to think about not being too Luddite with AI if we don't want AI to do the same with humans one day :)

Jokes aside, the most rational choice here is to collaborate with AI, not to polarize and think that humans are better than it.....

As of unresolved (internationally by laws) copyright / licensing / secrets risks, AI/LLM generated codes are not YET ready for submitting anywhere outside the organization (or the person him/herself) the operator belongs to.

Putting it (and energy consumptions and physical garbages) aside just to simplify the cases, using AI/LLM to find bugs and asking for "hints" (not actual codes!) for possible solution by exsiting committers would NOT be a BAD thing. It would unlikely to cause "slops".
