Is there any sub forum for discuss desktop software or free chat.

Hi administrator(s).

I am a developer of Kingsoft Office. Last week, I ported Kingsoft Office to FreeBSD successfully. So I'm curious about if there are more people interested in Kingsoft Office? Or does anybody need Kingsoft Office for FreeBSD?

I know this is the meeting place for FreeBSD users, So I intend to post a thread here. But, I can't find a right sub-forum for this purpose.

Can you give me some advice? :)

The 'Porting New Software' sub-forum. Or use the freebsd-ports mailing list if you need more technical input.

I think I can write port scripts by myself :) What I'm interested to know is whether it's worth to maintain a version for FreeBSD. It will spend us our few resources. In other words, I want to know if anybody needs it?

:)

Thank you, you are all friendly. I like FreeBSD.

I've never heard of Kingsoft Office... but after looking at the site I'd be willing to give it a try. I'm sure many other would, quality software will always find a home.

I think that a modern office suite, slimmer than OpenOffice or LibreOffice, would be a welcome addition to the ports tree for many. But you won't get any sizable recognition from possible users, unless you at least try to submit a port. Seeing that you already have it running at your own machine, it would be a pity to waste that effort.
