I had to prove AI was wrong to get through Customs.

Well Hell has frozen over and this week I had to defend myself from AI.

Background:
Made large online purchase of Rock Pi gear from OkDo which is based in the UK.

The day I was supposed to get my package I get an email.

Hello,
I am in the process of submitting your shipment to US Customs. The "ELECTRICAL HARDWARE COMPONENTS M 2 EXTENSION BOARD V16 FOR ROCK 4 MODEL" HTS 8473305100 on your invoice has flagged for possible Anti-Dumping and/or Countervailing for Aluminum Extrusions. I have attached the invoice for your viewing, the second attachment is an Aluminum Extrusions form that needs to be completed. Can you please look over this information and let us know whether your commodities contain any Extruded Aluminum that was produced in China? Please note that pages 2-4 contain scope information for Aluminum Extrusions, and starting on pages 3 it lists exclusions to this scope.
Please verify HTS Number is correct & let me know if you have any further questions.
So an M.2 Extension Board was flagged.
Noticed I was not informed that AI had screened my invoice and failed to work correctly, yet I have to prove my M.2 Card is not an aluminum extrusion. Four page PDF form with an affidavit.

The real kicker was in the footer of the email:
**If the required information is not received within 2 business days, UPS warehouse charges of $25.00 minimum + $0.05 per pound per day after two days; $0.10 per pound per day after 7 days will start to accrue.
So not only did AI erroneously detect the merchandise they are now threatening me with fees.

So I had to play nice and explain to 'Mo' that UPS had erroneously flagged my package and I would return the PDF forms.
I do not use Adobe products so I need to fax them. Ask for fax number.

Good morning

We work remotely , I don't have a fax ,

Feeling defeated I use my work computer and comply with AI demands.

Thank you

Shipment released and pushed to customs.

I asked Mo if AI had kicked out my item. He would not say. I know better.

What bothers me is my privacy was invaded and my invoice scrutinized.
I had to explain why I was buying something.

Very uncomfortable for a Veteran who opposes government tyranny.
My package did not contain guns or drugs. Counterfeit products or IP entangled goods.
They had no right to search the contents.

My Chinese purchases go much smoother.
Somebody messing with Okdo. Probably on some secret list.

My goods were still delayed. So maybe TAO is scrambling for an implant?
I am sure they are just another branch of 'the company'.

I have a different suspicion. Two days to comply or pay huge? Classic shakedown. They may look at your standard activity plus delays and see that you would be unlikely to match two days.

Also, what is the deal with the aluminum extrudates?

This I have noticed about ChatGPT and Google's AI search. One out of three statements from them are typical, expected responses you'd get from some housewife on the street. One out of three are correct but I could have done my own search and gotten the same answer. One out of three are flat out wrong.

On Stack Overflow, I often see questions where someone has said, "I tried what chatgpt told me to try..." and what they tried was flat out wrong.

I don't trust any of these things.

Also, what is the deal with the aluminum extrudates?
Not only that but lumping together these.
flagged for possible Anti-Dumping and/or Countervailing for Aluminum Extrusions.
How am I supposed to know if it was flagged for Anti-Dumping. I ignored anti-dumping and focused my defense on extrusions.
I am desperate to not have my goods seized so I signed affidavit so more information in the system I do not want stored.
But what court determines what parts are considered Anti-Dumping?

I see Ameridroid (US Arm vendor) has a banner on website about 25% tariff on Chinese goods.
So it is really out of my knowledge.
I plead stupid your honor.

Seems Ameridroid is still charging tariff of 25% despite it being lifted.

That is what tariffs do. Rip off consumers.

Prices include 25% tariffs for import into the US from China

You know, I could be wrong, but your enthusiastic support for our (now +1 safer) country sounds a *LOT* like complaining(jk), but, I know you aren't REALLY a wise guy, so... here I am... *happy* but still *confused* (even though this isn't as important as my support of your national (and personal) prizzide of our great hunk of landcuntry. Gooooooooooooooooooo uSA!

P.S. go robits, too
