I cant get gnome.

Try 'pkg_add -r gnome2' instead.

Have you looked at the Handbook? All the information you need is in there.

Try # pkg_add -r gnome2 or # cd /usr/ports/x11/gnome2 && make install clean. If you're using packages, changing PACKAGESITE to a closer mirror should speed up the installation.
