I installed FreeBSD on my Advent 4211b netbook a couple of years ago and never managed to get the WiFi working with working with the inbuilt Realtek wifi card. I used a USB Ralink WiFi dongle when I booted into FreeBSD which worked but was slow. This netbook also has Windows 10 and antiX partitions and I have eventually bought a newer pcie WiFi card and chose an Atheros AR9462 for its better performance and compatibility with FreeBSD. It works great in antiX but I haven't been able to get FreeBSD to recognise and use it. The USB dongle "just worked" but there is no sign of ath0 when I try ifconfig and it is not shown on wpa_supplicant_gui. Please could I have some help with troubleshooting this?
