Solved How to disable system shutdown on power button?

Good day!

I have a little Son, and he often tap power button on my PC. Is it any settings which disables system shutdown on power button pressing?

My system: 10.3-amd64 + Fluxbox
 
Or just unplug the internal cable to the button. In real life, people love to force power off on computers. It's the one thing where they feel they have control.

I once shipped out four or five FreeBSD systems set up as appliances. No monitor, just a small form factor machine. They included instructions with pictures which clearly stated "do not ever force power off on this machine." No fewer than three of the users of those systems proudly told me that they routinely shut them down by holding down the power button until the light went off.

He is too young, just 11 month, I of course talk with him and teach about around things, but now I just need to work without pain of suddenly powering off :)

If unplug button-cable, it will be inconvenient to power on it :) It is home pc, and I power off it at night and power on at morning :)

If your son manage to push the power button for 4 seconds, the system will power off cold, no matter if
sysctl hw.acpi.power_button_state=NONE is set or not.

You could use the reset button as power button, an leave the "big red attention" power button without function :D
 
I too have the same problem. I've put a thicker paper over the power button, that I can flip. This way my daughter can not press button directly and if she tries to flip the paper, I have time to stop her and talk to her :)
