Solved How to copy-paste code blocks [ sorry if ignorant q ]

Persons will post [ for example firewall rulesets ] with their own scrollbox [ code tag ? ] . But often if
the code extends 100 percent past the visible [ 20 lines shown, scroll down for next 30, total 50 ]
attempting to highlight the bottom half also for copy-paste, de-selects the first part or something
similar, at least on one machine.
Compounding, the 'select all' right click selects not only the code, but the entire forum thread making
a copy-paste very time consuming editing out the many posts that are irrelevant.
Some trick I don't know?
To state it again,
clicking on the 2nd half of the code to include it in the copy-paste, DESELECTS the first half of
the code, instead of adding to the highlight. And continuing to highlight the code with the mouse,
the scrolldown stops without seeing the rest of the code, vs if the code was not in its own
scrollbar block.
Some page view method or setting to make it easier?
Sorry if the problem is unique to my usage, or including two seperate issues not stated as such but
as one.

You mean like the OP in this thread?

It works perfectly fine here. Don't forget that, if you interrupted a selection or selected too much, you can always correct the selection by pressing Shift then clicking where you want your selection to end. In fact you don't even have to click then drag to select, you can simply click where you want your selection to start, press Shift and click again where you want it to end.

Okay. Seems both scrollbar bars have to be more or less in alignment for the copy paste selection to succeed. Aligned as in the smaller outer one beside the top third of the code to start and next to, so to speak, the larger
inner one, given the case many threads [ smaller one is outside ] ... So solved for now.
