We could try a port first. Looks like it would be straightforward. It can be moved into src if enough people want it and think it's worth it.

I remember reading somewhere that HAMMER2 supports being used in clustered mode (that is more than one hosts having the file system mounted). Am I right, or is that use me imagining it through wishful thinking?

On FreeBSD it is read-only at present, so if you are wondering about clustering, it may not be compatible. I do not know.
