In 10.1/i386 Release I am getting the error message in the thread title for the last two updates. I'm guessing the updates are not installed and I'm having a problem either downloading a valid update or some aspect of the extract process is borked. Any suggestions about where to look and what to test?
Edit: I did not really solve this, but arrived at the conclusion that freebsd-update is working fine - I was able to run freebsd-update fine on another 10.1/i386 system. I'm guessing that my hard drive on that system has some bad sectors and will start looking how to approach this in FreeBSD
