After a ports upgrade a week or two ago my web browsers have been unable to keep social media pages open, every twenty minutes or so they collapse often when i'm in the middle of writing. What I have also noticed is that the polkit-gnome-manage process is using 10Gb memory and has one of the processors working at 67%. Call me fussy but it seems a little excessive to me.
I've also noticed that there seems to have been similar problems last year where it also looks to be consuming about two thirds of other people's memory.
Are other people having similar issues with gnome polkit, and is there a known work around to make it better behaved?
