Gnome development in C++

Just wondering what tools are out there too assist me with development in C++ on the Gnome desktop environment. In particular something that will streamline window and control creation.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated,

Just reading up on glademm which says it is a backend for glade/glade2. Does that mean I have to install glade to use it?
