I am installing a FreeBSD computer for the first time. Setup Wifi, and installed a gui by running

I have edited gdm_enable="YES" and gnome_enable="YES" to rc.conf. I also added
to fstab.
My problem is: when starting the computer, everything loads fine. Then it tries to start Gnome, and it flashes between terminal and GUI. I can see a green leaf background, and then it reverts to terminal. It freezes the computer in a non-stop look between the terminal and GUI mode. (Hangs about 1-2 seconds on each phase before changing)
Have tried to Google, read documentation, etc etc. and can find no help. It should be noted the computer seems to work fine in terminal if I manage to abort loading of Gnome.
