Hi, I’m here about my Dell Latitude E5440, and I was wondering if there's a fix for the two-finger scroll issue. The hardware support page for this laptop seems to be outdated and the solutions doesnt work:

I’ve been wanting to use FreeBSD for a while, but the inability to use two-finger scrolling is quite frustrating. I tried the suggested solution, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to get this working in Wayland instead of Xorg, if necessary.
I was also wondering if driver support for this particular trackpad whether its glidepoint or synaptic, would be included in future kernel releases, or if it's possible for me to write a patch and submit it via the mailing list. If so, could you guide me on how to proceed?
