Ghostbsd desktop settings problem

Hi there,

I should have posted this on the Ghostbsd forum, but it has some problems lately. I can't even connect to it, so I post my questions here.

I've some background on Linux, mainly Mint Debian, and am still starting to explore Free BSD. I found Ghostbsd is the only stable and easy to install 'distro' I tried, where other releases won't install properly. I installed Ghostbsd on a Dell desktop, it worked so far so good except for a few strange things. First the sound settings, the sound card is recognized but does not produce sound, it was bcoz the system used the front audio port by default where I plugged the speakers at the rear port, but the system won't save changes even after I corrected it, so that I need to change that again every time reboot. The other problem was the network settings, both the Lan and wifi are recognized but won't show on the taskbar, I've no idea I am connected via Lan or wifi. Those are cosmetic flaws of Mate I believe, but how do I fix that, thanks !

For the primary focus on sound, this subforum might be better:

(GhostBSD is not a window manager.)

Alternatively:

– because, as you probably know, there's no official support for GhostBSD in The FreeBSD Forums.

… sound settings, … the system won't save changes …

How, exactly, do you make the change?
