Getting XFCE working with users

Hello, I need get XFCE working with users but I can't figure out where to start. Logged in as root I can use startx and it opens up XFCE, however when logged into a user account it just opens to the default desktop you get without a desktop environment loaded.

Why, Xfce project provides xinitrc file, there's in sysutils/xfce4-utils package. Copy /usr/local/etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc in your $HOME (rename it .xinitrc).

Because when the port gets upgraded, startxfce4 will automatically use the newer code. Besides, it's easier to see where to add my own commands to .xinitrc when it's not 10K of sh code. :)

Furthermore, you must create .pkla file for logout (e.g.), follow the message in x11-wm/xfce4-session.

Yes. And if you see
Code:
application.menu not found
rebuild sysutils/garcon.
