FreeBSD release on Mac Mini Server 5,3 (mid 2011)

Looking at https://wiki.freebsd.org/IntelMacMini I see that the last known working version of FreeBSD for the 5,3 is 12, yet the earlier 4,1 is release 14, as it is for the later 6,2. Even the 5,1 and 5,2 are shown as running release 13.

Can anyone explain why the 5,3 seems so limited?

The 5,1 and 5,2 are very similar (same apart from CPU?) hardware to the 5,3, so I'm wondering why it cannot run release 13. Or even whether it could run release 14. Is perhaps the 5,3 only listed with release 12 because no-one has specifically reported that e.g. 13 or even 14 will actually work. Or is there a specific hardware problem that prevents later releases from running?

I actually have a 4,1 and a 5,3 so am trying to decide the best one on which to install FreeBSD and ideally the later release the better, but for various reasons, I would prefer to use the 5,3.

Is it likely release 14 could run on the 5,3 or am I wasting my time and what would be the reason for it being impossible?

Although been using unix/linux for many years, this is my first foray into BSD (apart from MacOS) so would appreciate help with the above.

Yep - this reflects mainly my work along with a handful of others who have contributed - see the page history https://wiki.freebsd.org/action/info/IntelMacMini?action=info. So, it is the last version that I or one of the handful of contributors have actually run on the hardware. It doesn't necessarily reflect a failure state when a later version is not listed.

[As I'm now running FreeBSD on a couple of Beelink Ser 5 Pro MIni PCs , having retired my stable of Mac minis, there will be fewer updates going forward unless others contribute.]
